Level 4 Race Engines

A recent Customer's Level 4 494ci motor, ready for dyno testing. Shown with Custom built Headers, front mount and accessory mount plates.

Level 4 Description

This is a pure Drag race only motor. Specifications vary in working with the individual customer, to meet their needs for power, mounting capabilities, header configurations, and other variables. What is presented here is a general overview of this type of motor, with dyno tests of this motor in several different configurations, and a 'ballpark" price for each. I tend to quote prices on the high side, to prevent surprises down the road. We will study this motor as a 494, with both a 308S solid lifter Flat Tappet cam, a  260/266  684/700" roller cam, and then with a 525ci Billet Crank/Aluminum Rod setup, with a 274/278 701/701" roller camshaft.

Level 4 494 308S dyno results here.

Level 4 494 260/266 Roller cam results here. (Cam change only from solid motor- dyno comparison of roller cam performance.)

Level 4 494 260/266 Roller cam motor final results here.

Level 4 525 274/278 Roller cam dyno results here. (coming soon)
