WHY DEGREE YOUR CAM?

To illustrate the need to degree in your new cam, we purposely installed one incorrectly, to show just how much difference it could make.

The graph below is the TA Street Intimidator, installed at an incorrect 120* intake centerline, and at the correct 107* centerline.  This test was done with shorty headers.

Check out the graph, it makes a ton of difference, and it would not be out of the question to be this far off, if you did not check the centerline upon installation. This holds true for cams from virtually every manufacturer.

AVERAGE          Horsepower           Torque

120* CL                                  373                                       306

107* CL                                  440                                       360

In this engine, the Torque was down 67 ft/lbs, and the horsepower down 54 Hp on average, from 3000 to 5600. It makes quite a difference! Always check the intake centerline to insure proper installation of you new cam!
