Company Profile
The company is owned and operated by Jim Weise. Jim is an ASE Certified Master Technician, who spent the first 15 years of his career in both independent shops, and on the dealership level. A life-long Buick fanatic, his first GS was purchased before he could even drive it, and Jim still owns that GS-400 convertible today. The very first car Jim worked on was his father's 1970 Electra. Jim is assisted by his long time friend and racing partner Mike Bucy. Mike has owned a '70 GS Stage 1 car for over 25 years, and he raced (and beat) the President of a Mopar club during a 1984 Buick vs. Mopar meet in Ohio. Most of the notable Buick personalities were there at that race, and Mike was chosen to race the top Mopar. And even back then his car one of the quickest GS's around! This race preceded all the "Buick vs. Hemi” shootouts you have probably heard about. Another long-time shop assistant and friend is Tim Hol. And since Tim's Dad was the General Manager of one of the biggest Buick Dealers in the Twin Cities area, from the mid-60's to the mid-70's, one of Tim's first jobs was ordering those New GS's right from Buick. That's a valuable asset.. no need to look in a book to see if this color combination or parts were available.. just as Tim.. he ordered and sold them new, and drove them as Demonstrators. Tim also owns "Project Limited" which is a '87 Aluminum headed 455 Regal, who's transformation will be discussed at length on this site. It's a test bed for Regal Big Block parts development. Tim's a great asset, when it comes to Buick History. Jim Mike and Tim are also championship winning drag racers, who understand the "big picture" when it comes to this type of vehicle. With 15 years of racing experience, they can help you with just about any aspect of your project. From full-tilt race cars to daily drivers, they have the experience to help you build a winning race car, show car, or a very nice driver. Or the staff at TSP can build it for you, we are one of the only shops that can do just about everything in-house. When your car comes to TSP, you never have to wonder where the car or it's major components are. This allows them to control the quality of their product. Plan ahead, as they are typically booked 4-6 months in advance to do complete cars. And they have some of the fastest turn around times in the business: a typical frame off performance/stock restoration takes 12-18 months. Not years. And you will be pleasantly surprised at the pricing. In the world of $100K restoration projects, Tri-Shield comes in far less than that, with no reduction in the quality of workmanship that goes into your car.
Our
Mission Tri-Shield Performance is
totally committed to customer service and communication. We value our customer's
input before work has begun, and after the parts are delivered or the vehicle is
finished. We strive for perfection in everything we do. Rest assured, when you
do business with us you won't have to second-guess the product; it is as good as
it can be. Our
products and services are fully tested and proven, we will not cut corners on
anything. Period. Our overhead is low, so when you spend your hard earned
dollars with us, you get a good value for the buck. It costs more to do it
"right" but that is the only way we do things. Your car deserves no
less than the best. We make every effort to provide just that, whether it be a
simple activation system for your Variable Pitch-equipped TH 400, or a complete,
turn-key project. We look forward to doing business with you.
