Test Motor inspection
We tore down the motor supplied to us for the testing, the following are the pictures of that inspection process. I guess cam pre-lube was "optional" on this build--- scary.. If this motor was started with the cam dry like this, I would give it no more than a 50% chance of breaking in properly, and that may be optomistic. Stock 1976 cylinder head intake flange Engine was cleaned up completely, I was pleased to see this. I believe it to have been professionally rebuilt. New stock valve springs, and stamped steel rocker gear. Also, we see that the engine is very clean. That's a whole lot of lifter pre-load.. In a dead stock application, which this basically was, you could get away with this, but we will reduce it approximately in half for our performance work. "322" casting number heads. these are the open chamber 75-76 heads.
